The opportunity Our BTA tax service line operates as a team of highly experienced tax professionals who focus on delivering efficient and effective resources to companies in the region. You will work with organizations and individuals to structure transactions and operations in a tax-effective manner. This includes helping clients to mitigate tax risk and comply effectively with tax laws. You will help businesses meet complex demands for tax reporting, compliance, planning, strategy and controversy. By integrating deep technical and industry knowledge with established methodologies, you will work with a wide range of businesses and corporations to help them develop and implement effective, practical and sustainable tax strategies. You will provide tailored advice to clients and build valued relationships with them and your team. Your key responsibilities – You will be responsible for high level management and successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and high-quality client service. – You will also team with other service lines, geographies, and diverse work groups to build advisory services and related opportunities as well as long-term relationships. – You will be focusing passionately on key client business strategies and related tax policies and issues to develop pipeline. – You will be responsible for the overall management of client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, put in place the necessary standardized processes, resolve or escalate issues as appropriate and drive performance-improvement solutions. – You will also assist partners to generate new business opportunities, build client networks and to grow our client base in the region by driving marketing and business development initiatives. – You will create, lead and motivate high performing teams and build a positive learning culture, coaching and counseling team members to help them develop. – You will be responsible for managing engagement economics and communicating significant issues, fees and estimates-to-complete to partners and clients. – You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to our Tax Quality guidelines.

    Skills and attributes for success – If you are an excellent communicator and detail-oriented professional, with strong analytical and problem solving skills, who is comfortable working across borders with a wide network of people, you will be perfect for the role. To qualify for the role you must have – A bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials in accounting, business, finance, law, taxation or any related essential fields. – MBA, Masters, LLM or another related advanced degree and/or professional qualifications e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent qualification. – A very strong knowledge and experience of over 7 years in Corporate Tax, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment. – A strong track record of managerial, organizational and project management experience. Ideally, you also have – Experience of dealing with multinational clients and ability to work in multi-cultural environment. – Ability to win in the market by connecting with c-suite level, good negotiation skill and ability to work under challenging situations. Your key responsibilities You’ll lead the successful delivery of Indirect Tax engagements, taking a professional, practical and commercial approach and ensuring technical excellence. You will manage large VAT implementation teams comprising both client functional experts and consultant specialists, identify opportunities in the market and lead on developing our commercial proposition to new and existing clients. You will build and maintain tax relationships with our own clients, advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT) or good & services tax (GST) impact clients’ supply chain and financial and accounting systems and identify and address areas of risk, advise clients on the taxation implication of international trade and assist them in complying with customs regulations. To qualify for the role you must have – A degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting – A relevant Masters degree, CPA or ACA/CA/CPA/CMA/SOCPA/Law qualification/CTA or equivalent tax qualification – At least 6 years of relevant experience as Indirect Tax professional – Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with from law firms or with relevant industry experience – Customs duty advisory experience is preferable, but we will also consider candidates with VAT/GST advisory experience – Excellent English written and presentational skills.
