Job Description & Summary
The Technology R&Q Team are looking for a technology-curious, risk-aware high performing
manager to focus on Middle East technology projects supporting the firm’s digital ambitions.
You will be part of this growing team, advising on risk management matters associated with the development of technology solutions by PwC Middle East to be used internally by the firm or as part of the delivery of services
to clients.
• In this role you will work with teams across the business in the Middle East, risk and technology SMEs and their global counterparts, to identify and mitigate risk concerns associated with new digital solutions. Your role
will also include a focus on identifying opportunities for improvements to our team’s processes for reviewing and assessing risks associated with digital and technology development and deployment.
• We are looking for someone with a technology background and an enthusiasm to learn and develop expertise in the management of risks associated with technology -leaving you well positioned to develop into many future roles as the firm becomes increasingly digitally-enabled. You must be able to flex your style; adapt to changing business needs; work collaboratively; manage stakeholders and be able to build strong relationships. The role will report to the Senior Manager, x-LoS Technology R&Q.
What will you be doing?
• Working closely with the Senior Manager to help business teams through the clearance and approval process for development of technology solutionaby PwC Middle East. You will help teams to articulate technology risks for the solution and to engage with specialist functions in the firm to identify mitigation measures;
• Creating a robust audit trail for such consultations and approvals through appropriate documentation;
• Analysis of the current processes for assessing risks associated with the firm’s use of technology, identification of improvements to drive consistency, ensure efficiency and leverage the tools available, including those being developed by the Global risk team.
You will also be expected to
• Take an active role in supporting with the communications, process improvement, knowledge sharing.
• Develop specialist knowledge across a wide range of topics, including some of the following: PwC Technology approach and architecture, data security and privacy, third party supplier risk regarding products and services, Contracting considerations, Independence considerations.
Essential skills
• Technology expertise
• Understanding of systems development using agile methodology
• Hands on web/app development and familiarity with emerging technologies
• Knowledge of product management lifecycle including maintenance and support
• An empathetic, solutions focused, pragmatic approach, combined with an ability to apply quality standards and recognise showstoppers;
• A good understanding of the role of risk management in helping an organisation achieve its business goals
• A drive to keep up to date in a fast-paced technology landscape and a sound understanding of how technology can drive efficiency, augment existing services and open new opportunities for the business
• Ability to interact with and effectively facilitate a wide range of stakeholders at all levels within multiple functions, both technical and non-technical, across all grades, whilst building strong relationships
• Ability to analyse and document processes, to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and successfully influence change.
• Effective oral and written communication with the ability to provide well-reasoned and self-assured responses to stakeholders
• Ability to work as part of a team, including sharing and collaborating effectively with others, as well as creating a positive team spirit;
• A desire to work within a diverse team, with good self-management skills and an ability to take initiative but keep others informed of progress and escalate issues where appropriate;
• Able to balance good discipline with flexibility to achieve goals efficiently while incorporating evolving levels of organizational knowledge
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree Required- Master’s is preferred
• Overall 8-10 years of experience of which at least 5 y ears should have been with an international management consultancy in their Technology consulting department
• Experience in software development, information security, technology implementation or programme and project management would be an advantage
• Ability to work in both English & Arabic is preferred
