The RoleThe Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for handling the installation and configuration of organization’s infrastructure, including systems, networks, and related components; to enable the business users to transfer information, communicate and operate efficiently and effectively as per defined quality policies and governance frameworks.Key Job Responsibilities include:- Support the installation, setup, maintenance, and operation of organization’s networks and systems.- Develop reports pertaining to the overall performance of the organisation’s networks and telecommunication infrastructure to ensure that all business units receive appropriate and timely support.- Handle the installation and maintenance of the workplace’s main servers, systems and infrastructure applications for all systems, replacement of old servers, and all related operating systems to ensure they are all operating effectively to achieve the organisation’s objectives.- Gather and analyse user requirements to identify, predict, interpret, and determine future system capacity and sizing requirements.- Ensure that an up-to-date enterprise inventory of the organization’s IT infrastructure components is maintained and regularly updated.- Prepare recommendations for current product updates, new products and standards and implement appropriate solutions in consultation with the IT Infrastructure.- Provide the necessary support for assigned business units of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and ensure that sufficient backup support teams are available to take-over as and when required.- Ensure that reliable operating system environments are provided such that organization’s applications are able to meet the required service levels.- Monitor system and network availability, capacity, and sustainability for organization to ensure smooth running of business operations.- Maintain relationship with selected suppliers and subcontractors for networking and telecommunication systems and hardware delivery and maintenance and provide expertise on supplier support contracts and their required service levels

NOTE: THIS IS AN OUTSOURCED ROLE FOR A DURATION OF ONE YEAR- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or any related field.- 6 years of relevant experience in Information Technology with a focus on IT Infrastructure.- Experience with incident ticketing systems, workstation management systems and desktop imaging. – Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange 2010 and SQL Server.- Good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud-based infrastructure.- Experience using automated monitoring tools.- Ability to identify incident trends to elevate incidents in accordance with standard protocols.- Good attention to detail, testing and documentation.- Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices- Strong virtualization experience using Hyper-V, VM Ware, Citrix Xen App and NetScaler.- Proven ability to work in a cloud based or hosting environment.- Experience working with NetApp storage.- Experience in Microsoft System Centre 2012
